Dear Neighbor:

Last month, I asked you to share your opinions about the “Big Box” ordinance. Many of you responded, and the overwhelming majority expressed strong opposition to this legislation. I shared your feedback with the Mayor and as you have seen, yesterday, the Mayor vetoed the “Big Box” ordinance.

However, the City Council could still override the veto at tomorrow's meeting.

I will vote to uphold the Mayor's veto, and I encourage you to call my colleagues and ask them to do the same.

Let's put aside our differences in this local debate and work together to lobby Congress to increase the minimum wage nationwide. As a longtime supporter of unions and working families, I believe this is the best way to ensure that workers will enjoy a living wage and better benefits in the future.

Sincerely,

42nd Ward Alderman Burton F. Natarus
